those plants which catch insects and digest for their nitrogen requirement are called insectivorous. all the plants need nitrogen for proper growth. but nitrogen is aboundantly present in air not in soil. so for every plant getting nitrogen is a difficult task. lot of plant varieties developed different mechanism to overcome this problem like mycorrhiza etc. these insectivorous plants gets nitrogen from insects. eg. venus fly trap.
