the compound which are formed by ionic bond by the elements having +ve and -ve charge elements called ionic compound

ex- NaCl
in NaCl
Na has tendency to loose its valence electron thus it forms Na+
and Cl gains this electron firms Cl-
Na has one valence electron

Bhaijaan11: what about molecular compound
afridi7: sorry i gave answer for ionic compound.. i have read molecular as ionic.. it's funny
Bhaijaan11: do u know about molecular compound
afridi7: yes
Bhaijaan11: tell me about it
afridi7: molecular compounds are formed by covalent bond between the atoms... generally it has no electrical conductivity
afridi7: that is it is formed between non metals
afridi7: for example ethanol.. CH3CH2OH
afridi7: covalent bonds are formed by sharing valence electron between the atoms
afridi7: may be helpful
