the compounds formed by ionic bond are called ionic compounds
this ionic bond keeps the cation and anion together to form a electrically
neutral compounds

The ionic or electrovalent compounds and compounds formed by sharing of ions(two different charges,one positive and other negative) and thereby forming ionic bonds among those two elements of opposite charges.
