WHAT IS REAL NUMBER?

Any number that exists in mathematics is called Real Number.

The real numbers are of two types :-

1. RATIONAL NUMBER

The real number which can be represented in form of p/q ; where q is not equal to zero is said to be Rational number.

Natural numbers, Whole numbers, Fractions,terminating decimals, Repeating-non terminating and integers are all rational numbers.

Examples - 0.999..., 1.24, 4/7, 0, -56 etc.

2.IRRATIONAL NUMBER

The real number which cannot be express in p/q form is called Irrational number.

These numbers cannot be written in terminating form.
