Answer:

Atoms and ions that have the same electron configuration are said to be isoelectronic. Examples of isoelectronic species are N3–, O2–, F–, Ne, Na+, Mg2+, and Al3+ (1s22s22p6).

Alright,

Isoelectronic are those species (atoms)or molecules or ions; having same number of electrons in them.

If we take examples then,

Like Na+ , Mg2+,Al3+

All these three ions have same number of electrons present in them i.e, 10.

Thanks:)

How do I identify an isoelectronic species?

What are isoelectronic pair species?

Isoelectonic species are species which have Same electrons may be atoms or ions .

For instance consider following species

Ne,Na+,Mg2+,Al3+.

All of them have 10 electrons in totality hence are isoelectonic species.

Isoelectronic species are those species which have equal no of electrons in their structure.

For example NH3 has 10 electrons in its structure. And HF has 10 electrons in its structure. Hence these are isoelectronic species

any atom, ion or molecule having same number of electrons.

e.g. Na+, Mg+2, Ne : all have 10e

e.g. OH-, H2O : both have 18e
