Hey .
-------------------
--------------------
Isomers:
The compounds having same molecular formula but different structural formula are called isomers.
The first three members of alkane series are:
1. Methane (CH₄)
2. Ethane (CH₃CH₃)
3. Propane (CH₃CH₂CH₃) .
The isomers of these elements are not possible because all the carbon atoms are linked in one chain only and there is not any possibility of formation of any side chain. Therefore, no branching is possible for these three elements.
Butane has two structural isomers.
1. Normal Butane:

   H  H H  H
    Ι   Ι   Ι   Ι
H-C-C-C-C-H
    Ι   Ι   Ι   Ι
   H  H H H

2. Iso-butane:

   H  H  H
    Ι   Ι   Ι
H-C-C-C-H
    Ι   Ι   Ι
   H  Ι   H
 H - C - H
       Ι
       H
