IUPAC means International union of pure and applied chemistry. It Is established to standardise the nomenclature in chemistry as the chemical compounds and elements are called by different names in different country! So to make a uniform name for compounds IUPAC gave certain rules for naming which should learnt before naming a chemical compound!
