Leguminous plants are plants that increases soil fertility by providing nitrogen to it. The Rhizobium bacteria which is present in the soil , absorbs atmospheric nitrogen and converts it into water soluble nitrogenous compounds. Leguminous plants help the farmers by replenishing nitrogen in the soil.
