Lichen isn't single organism it's symbiosis between different organisms i.e. fungus and an alga/cyanobacterium.  

Cyanobacteria are referred to 'blue-green algae' though they are separate from algae.  

Non-fungal partner consists of chlorophyll and is called photobiont.

Lichen is perfect example of teamwork.  

Lichen is the result of mutualistic relationship between algae and fungi where algae gives food and fungi gives a structure.

Example of lichens are jelly lichens.
