longitudes and latitudes are imaginary lines on grid.

the longitudes are called medians and latitude are called parallels. longitudes are 360 in numbers and the middle most longitude is called the prime meridian which is at 180 degree. on the other hand lattitudes are 180 in numbers and the life parallel to the equator which is the middle most at 0 degree.
