LPG Fuel. CNG and LPG fuel also have both similarities and differences. While CNG is comprised of methane, LPG is comprised of propane and butane. CNG is typically used as a substitute for gasoline in automobiles, while LPG is often used in the industrial, refrigeration, agricultural and catering industries.

LPG and CNG gas both come from drilling oil wells and are both hydrocarbon fuels. LPG (propane) and CNG (methane) are typically found together. They must be separated before they can be used commercially. LPG is also produced during petroleum refining and is also referred to as natural gas liquids – NGL.

The Smell in LPG gas cylinders when there is a leakage is due to Ethyl Mercaptan. EXPLANATION: CNG also contributes less towards greenhouse gas emissions when compared to diesel. LPG is used widely for cooking and heating purposes as it has more calorific values than other fuels
