Lubricants are liquid or fluid substances they make the uneven surfaces to be straight by getting into the gaps.They reduce friction because they smoothen the surface.

Lubricant main role is to reduce the heat generated & making the rough surfaces smooth.

Lubricant is petroleum products.
It use give sooth movement of two jobs. It avoid erosions of surface of any object. Take example of machine where weekly apply lubricant so that tear and wear part will avoid. It reduces the friction between two movement part and give movement.
