What are ‘magnetic field lines’? How is the direction of a magnetic field at a point determined ?

The magnetic field lines are the pictorial representation of the strength and direction of the magnetic field.

The direction of the magnetic field at a point can be found by placing a small magnetic compass at that point. The north end of the needle of a compass indicates the direction of magnetic field at a point where it is placed.

Magnetic field lines are those lines which are formed around a magnet and they also represent direction.. Direction of a magnetic field at a point is determined by placing a small compass needle .The N point will represent it..
