The mechanical teacher was a computer screen on which lessons were flashed ,explained and then the questions were asked .thereafter tests were given.the completed work had to be inserted in a slot which was provided in the machine.It was programmed  to flash on the screen at a certain time  each day except on Saturdays and Sundays.It never fell ill and would regularly  assign homework.In case there was any mechanical fault ,a county inspector was sent for ,to rectify the error.
