what are matter waves

aadharshg003: Matter waves are a central part of the theory of quantum mechanics, being an example of wave–particle duality. The concept that matter behaves like a wave is also referred to as the de Broglie hypothesis (/dəˈbrɔɪ/) due to having been proposed by Louis de Broglie in 1924

it is a wave associated with particles revolving in an atom around nucleus. De broglie named these waves as matter waves or De Broglie's waves. its wavelength is calculated from
wavelength lambda = h/mv

h is plank constant.

this theory mainly conveys the wave nature of light having energy given by plank E = hv. (v is frequency of radiation)

these waves do not require any material medium for it propagation. it is coming in mainly non relativistic theory (both mass and velocity are variable with respect to time)

A hypothecial wave associated with the motion of a particle of atomic or subatomic size that describes effects such as the difdraction of beams pf particles by crrystals .
