A median is a line drawn from a vertex of a triangle to the mod point of the opposite side. Altitude is the line drawn from a vertex of a triangle perpendicular to the opposite side.

It is a line segment from a vertex perpendicular to the opposite side.
It is a line segment joining a vertex to the midpoint of opposite side, bisecting that side.
