Meristematic tissues are plant tissues which are undifferentiated (at the start but as the plant grows, specific tissues start taking up specialized jobs of growing later on) and are meant to multiply for the plant growth. The tissues are of 3 main types, apical, lateral and intercalary. Apical meristem is the tissue of growth at the plant shoot, lateral is for the growth of the sides, and intercalary is for the growth at segments like connections between the trunk and branches of trees.
