• To find the dimension of unknown value/quantity.
• To check any equation.
• To find unknown formula.

Demerits of Dimension:—

• Proportionality , constant, trigonometric ratio, pure number, exponential series , longarithmic series have no dimension.
• We can't drive relation attached with addition/subtraction.
• If a quantity depends on more than three variable thrn we can not establish such relation.
• It is not necessary that a dimensionally correct formula is really correct.
