1 .metalloids show the property of metals and nonmetals metals both example is silicon and bromine
2.if the element is 'x ' and the outermost shell m has ( 1,2,3,4 atoms ) then valency is equal to 'x' . and if in element x the outermost shell has (5,6,7,8 atoms) then valency is equal to 8 -x
example sodium (na11) electronic configuration is (2,8,1) valency is 1. if there is another number in place of 1 to 4 then it will be 8-x always
