Metamers are either chain isomer or position isomers with same functional group and have different alkyl group attached to heteroation. Following metamers are represented by formula C4H10O.

For example, diethyl ether and methyl propyl ethers are metamers. They both contain the ether functional group, but they have different alkyl groups attached to the oxygen atom
