1. Middle term splitting
x²+7x+10=0
x²+5x+2x+10=0

2. Hit and trial method
By putting different values in place of x until the equation is equal to 0.

3. Discriminant formula
Here, x= - b +root D /2a
And x = - b - root D/2a

Thank you...

Swathi01: 1.Multiply the constant term with the co-efficent of x2[x square] under certain situations or else just go on with the TRIAL method using the factors of the constant term and then split the middle term. Take out the commons and then find the answers.
Swathi01: x^2 +5x+12
Swathi01: SORRY..
Swathi01: constant term is 12
Swathi01: sorry
Swathi01: constant term is 6
Swathi01: x^2+5x+6 - This is the correct equation
Swathi01: find it ou

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, there are following two methods for solving quadratic equation:-

1. By Factorisation method:-

         If ax² + bx + c can be factorised as ( x - α ) ( x - β ) then ax² + bx + c = 0 is equivalent to (x - α) (x - β) = 0

Thus,        (x - α) (x - β) = 0

               (x - α) = 0 or (x - β) = 0

                x = α or x = β

Here, α and β are called roots of equation ax² + bx + c = 0

2. By Sridharacharya's Method:-

          Using quadratic formula, write the quadratic in the standard form ax² + bx + c = 0 then roots are,

    α = - b + √b² - 4ac / 2a     ,       β = - b - √b² - 4ac / 2a

Here, D = b² - 4ac is called the 'discriminant' of quadratic equation.
