Properties of Microwaves

Microwaves are the waves that radiate electromagnetic energy with shorter wavelength. Microwaves are not reflected by Ionosphere. Microwaves travel in a straight line and are reflected by the conducting surfaces. Microwaves are easily attenuated within shorter distances.

• Microwaves are a type of electromagnetic radiation, as are radio waves, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays and gamma-rays. Microwaves have a range of applications, including communications, radar and, perhaps best known by most people, cooking.

Microwave Technology, a line-of-sight wireless communication, uses specialized equipment to transmit and receive radio frequency (RF) over long distances without the use of wires or cables. Specific RF allows information to be transmitted through extreme weather conditions such as rain, hail, snow, dust, or even smoke.
