Millets are type of grains which are have high value of nutrition and protein in it. Examples : Bajra, Ragi and Jowar.

Millets are also known as coarse grains. It is because their surface is not so smooth. Coarse means 'rough'. Millets have surface which are rough. So they are termed as coarse grains.

Like wheat and rice, they do are not fine grains. They are coarse type or rough type grains.
