Millets are called coarse grains because they do not need many nutrients and water to grow i.e. they can grow in less fertile areas receiving low level of rainfall as well

ANSWER : Millets are type of grains which are have high value of nutrition and protein in it. Examples : Bajra, Ragi and Jowar. Millets are also known as coarse grains because their surface is not so smooth.Millets are grown especially in India,Mali,Nigeria etc.
