Hey dude,

Coal, Oil and Gas are called "fossil fuels" because they have been formed from the fossilized remains of prehistoric plants and animals. Fossil fuels are a nonrenewable energy source since they take millions of years to form. Fossil fuels ultimately get their energy from the sun.

the mineral fuels are naturally occurring fuels on earth crust... that's why they are called mineral fuels and also they were made by the dead plants and animals who were got buried millions of years ago and put up in an anaerobic condition... hence they are fossil records of earlier animals.... they called fossil fuels...
