Minerals are naturally occurring substances found in Earth's crust. They have distinct physical properties such as color and hardness, and chemical properties such as solubility.Like all other natural resources they are too unevenly distributed. They are rarely found in pure state. There are nearly 3000 minerals on the surface of the Earth.most minerals are found in such low concentrations or in such inaccessible places, that their extraction becomes too expensive,or technically difficult,to be profitable!! hope this answer could be helpful !!

Minerals are defined as solid, inorganic, naturally occurring substances with a definite chemical formula and general structure. Almost all chemical elements in the Earth's crust are associated with at least one mineral.these are found in organic matter.
