Solid homogeneous inorganic substances occurring in nature having a definite chemical composition are called Minerals.

1) Minerals such as gold, platinum are used to make ornaments, jewelries.
2) Minerals such as aluminium, copper are used for daily appliances like utensils, electrical appliances like in wires etc.
3) Lead-Zinc are used for production of petrol, batteries, paints etc.
4) Graphite: The "lead" filling in pencils is in fact composed of a mixture of Graphite.

Every mineral has its own purpose to serve.
