Modern farming methods refer to theagricultural production system characterized by the high inputs of capital, labour, heavy usage of farm machinery such as threshers, harvesters, winnowing machine, heavy usage of technology such as selective breeding, pesticides, chemical fertilizers and insecticides.

The drawbacks of modern farming:

The HYV seeds promised to produce much greater amounts of grain on a single plant but in turn the the same piece of land nee plenty of water and also chemical fertilizers .
