Monosaccharides are any of the class of sugars (e.g. glucose) that cannot be hydrolysed to give a simpler sugar.

Monosaccharides means any class of a sugar (eg:- glucose) that cannot be hydrolysed to give a simpler sugar.

They are the simplest unit of carbohydrates.

They're compost of hydrogen , carbon and oxygen atoms and they cannot be broken down further since they are a simpler substance .
