Living world has living organisms with certain common features. These features of living beings are also called features of life.

1. Definite shape :

The living organisms have definite shape. They show certain b0dy organisation. Due to presence of organisation they are known as organisms.

2.Growth:

Living organisms show growth and development. Growth is a permanent change in the size of a cell and of whole organism. The growth takes place in living organisms due to growth from inside.

3.Protoplasm:

The cells of all living organisms have protoplasm. This is site of vital activities of the cell.

4.Movement :

Most living organisms show movement. This Los termed as locomotion. Though plants and some animals like the sponges don't move.

5. Consciousness:

All the living organisms reply to the external or internal stimuli. The reaction of an organisms is called response

6. Cellular Structure:

Every organism is made up of cells. The cells are the basic structural unit of life.
