Since ancient times in every religion the change of name marks the spiritual elevation this can be significantly un derstood if one follows the New Testament where purposefully changes the nbame of Abram and Sarai to Abraham and Sarah and elevate the spiritual elevation as the “father and mother of nations.”
Later the Name of Simon was also changed to peter by Jesus.
