It is an illegal additive drug which usually effects the behavior and mood of humans.  

Ill effects of narcotics:

All types of drugs have negative effect on humans. The ill effects of narcotics are described below:

i) Drowsiness

ii) Sleeplessness

iii) Inability to concentrate  

iv) Apathy  

v) Lessened physical activity  

vi) Construction of the pupils  

vii) Flushing of the face and neck  

viii) Vomiting

A narcotic is a drug or a chemical used for providing pain relief and narcosis state.

Explanation:

  • A narcotic is a psychotic drug or opiod pain reliever prescribed therapeutically by physicians to provide pain relief (analgesia) and to induce a state of sleep or stupor (narcosis) to patients under extremely painful conditions.  
  • Some of the commonly used narcotics include Oxycodone, Duragesic, Codiene, Fentanyl, Morphine, hydrocodone, etc

Ill effects of narcotics

  • Addiction: Due to the painless euphoric state it provides, many become addicted to narcotics.
  • Adverse side effects: Sleepiness, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of appetite, digestive and urinary problems, skin rashes, miosis, low blood pressure etc
  • Illegal narcotics include heroin, synthetic opiates, marijuana, cocaine etc, can cause serious side effects to the addicts.
