what are Nissl granules?where are they located?what are their function?

They r large granular body found in neurons. Their function is same as golgi apparatus and er. They help in protien synthesis for intercellular substances. They can be seen by staining them with aniline stain. It was named after a german nueropathologist Franz Nissl. He discovered the method of staining nissl granules.
