Printable characters are the alphabets, numerical digits and symbols like * ( ) ^ & % etc.
Non printable characters have ASCII code from 0 to 20+ or 31, I think.
Null character '\0' , eof end of file character, control C (break) character, line feed and newline, carriage return character etc. are not printable.
These are displayed by the software by some symbols.. ^c and ^d are used for control C and control D characters.
