Olfactory indicators are one type of indicators which tells us whether something is acidic or basic in nature by giving out a characteristic smell.

Example: 1. Take an onion and put some solution over it.

2. If it gives it characteristics smell then the solution is acidic but if it gives no smell then the solution was basic in nature.
