Paramecium feeds through oral groove. Cilia swept food into oral groove by forming water current. After that food is taken to cytostome and ingested into food vacuole. Then food travels through cytoplasm and digested by enzymes secreted by food vacuole. Digested food is absorbed into cytoplasm.

Cytopyge is anal orifice in some rumen dwelling ciliates of herbivores.
