ORGANISM MEANS :

1.An individual form of life, such as a bacterium, protist, fungus, plant, or animal, composed of a single cell or a complex of cells in which organelles or organs work together to carry out the various processes of life.

2.Any individual animal, plant, bacterium, etc. having various parts or systems that function together as a whole to maintain life and its activities.

3.A system regarded as analogous in its structure or functions to a living body.

4.Anything resembling a living thing in its complexity of structure or functions.

5.The definition of an organism is a creature such as a plant, animal or a single-celled life form, or something that has interdependent parts and that is being compared to a living creature.

6.An individual form of life, such as a bacterium, protista, fungus, plant, or animal, composed of a single cell or a complex of cells in which organelles or organs work together to carry out the various processes of life.

7.An individual form of life that is capable of growing, metabolizing nutrients, and usually reproducing. Organisms can be unicellular or multicellular. They are scientifically divided into five different groups (called kingdoms) that include prokaryotes, protista, fungi, plants, and animals, and that are further subdivided based on common ancestry and homology of anatomic and molecular structures.

LIVING ORGANISMS ARE DIVIDED INTO FIVE KINGDOMS:

1.Prokaryotae.

2.Protoctista.

3.Fungi.

4.Plantae.

5.Animalia.

SOME EXAMPLES:

Animals: dogs, cats, elephants, gorillas, sharks, rays, snakes, crocodiles, koalas, chickens, eagles.

Plants: grass, roses, pines, firs, mangoes, palm trees.

Plants: grass, roses, pines, firs, mangoes, palm trees.Fungi: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Agaricus bisporus.

Prokaryotae:Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis.

Protoctista. amoebas.

[An organism has a heritable code, metabolism, reproduction and a mode of transportation.]
