★ Parasites :

Parasites are organisms that live with dependence on another organism .It harms the host that is the body on which it is leaving in order for its survival. They obtain all the necessary nutritions from the body of the host by absorbing the nutrients in its body . It uses it specialised thread like structure in order to suck up all the nutrients .

They differ from one other on basis of body they survive in .

They show body structure according to the organism on which they are living .

Examples :

• Roundworms
• Leeches
• Giardia
• Lice
• Hookworms

There are many types of parasites they may be due to arthropoda , platyhelminthes or in the form of protozoans .

Some plants cannot synthesise their own food because they do not contain chlorophyll. Such plants depend on the food produced by other plants. Their mode of nutrition is, therefore, heterotrophic. One swachh plant is cuscuta (Amarbel, dodder). It can be observed by a yellow thread-like structure, without leaves, growing on the other plant. Cuscuta is a parasite since it derives its nutrition from some other living organism and causes harm to that organism. The plant on which it grows, is known as the host . It don't let the other plant grow and sucks all the nutrition from the plant on which it grows.
