Parenchyma tissues are the bulk of soft tissue cells known as filler tissues forming the soft structural parts and they have thin cell membranes. For example, present in functional parts of the animals like brain parenchyma, lung parenchyma etc. and in the ground tissues of plants like in cortex, pith and pericycle and inside the fruits, flowers and leaves.
Many times they are not specialized hence can differentiate to perform several functions.
They can store food, perform photosynthesis and provide support to plants.
