Explanation:

An integument—outer layer of the ovule—covers Ephedra, Gnetum, and Welwitschia seeds, but no gnetophyte embryo is enclosed in a fruit or nourished by endosperm. ... Gnetum gnemon also undergoes double fertilization although it is unresolved whether double fertilization occurs in other species of Gnetum.
