1- Peristalsis, involuntary movements of the longitudinal and circular muscles, primarily in the digestive tract but occasionally in other hollow tubes of the body, that occur in progressive wavelike contractions. Peristaltic waves occur in the esophagus, stomach, and intestines.

2-In desert plants, the stomata is open during night. During night, desert plants absorb carbon dioxide and form an intermediate. Then during day time when the stomata is closed to prevent loss of water, they use this stored carbon dioxide to perform photosynthesis
