Phanogams are the most advance plants. They are also flower or seed bearing plants and contain well develop roots, stems, leaves and flowers.

They are divided into 2 categories:

- Angiosperms

- Gymnosperms

On the other hand, the term bryophytes refer to the plants such as mosses, ferns and liverworts. They are non-vascular plants and do not produce flowers.
