Pheromones are chemicals, produced and released into the surroundings by animals – especially mammals and insects, which affects the behaviour of other animals belonging to the same species.

Pheromones behave like hormones, once it is released into the environment by the animal. These Pheromones influence the response to alarm, food habits and sexual behaviour in other animals of the same species. It is a form of communication.
