Potometer:-

Normally Potometer is a device which help to find out the measurement of the rate of water in taken by the plant .

we know that water intake is always equal to the water lost through transpiration.

Potometers are of many types:-

  1. Farmer's Potometer
  2. Ganong's Potometer
  3. Darwin's Potometer
  4. Garreau's Potometer

  1. The Potometer used in the experiment should by completely water tight.
  2. To avoid suction of an air bubble into the twig .The twig should be cut obliquely

Coming up of air bubbles are not easy.

Any change in outside weather for example increase in rate of humidity or wind will effect the measurement.

The twig remains alive for longer time is difficult.
