What is phrasal verb?
Phrasal verbs are those verbs which are combined with different prepositions or adverbs,to make new verbs with completely new meanings.

Keep down,take up,give up,make up,put off,back up,close down,throw away.
Types of Phrasal verbs
There are three types of phrasal verbs:
- ᴠᴇʀʙ + ᴀᴅᴠᴇʀʙ : He took off the painting from the wall.
- ᴠᴇʀʙ + ᴘʀᴇᴘᴏꜱɪᴛɪᴏɴ : I called on him.
- ᴠᴇʀʙ + ᴀᴅᴠᴇʀʙ + ᴘʀᴇᴘᴏꜱɪᴛɪᴏɴꜱ : She cannot put up with him.
Use of Phrasal Verbs
A phrasal verb may be:
- Intransitive (without an object)
- Transitive ( with an object)
For example:-
☞ɪɴᴛʀᴀɴꜱɪᴛɪᴠᴇ → : She set off for calcutta.
☞ᴛʀᴀɴꜱɪᴛɪᴠᴇ → : He took off his hat.
