Plastids are double layered membrane bound organelle found only in plants.
There are 2 types of plastids :-
- CHROMOPLAST (coloured plastids)
- LEUCOPLASTS (white or colourless platstids)
- Plastids containing the pigment chlorophyll II are known as chloroplast.
- Chloroplasts are also contain various yellow or Orange pigments in addition to chlorophyll.
- LEUCOPLASTS are primarily organelles in which material such as start ,oils and protein granules are stored.
