The plastid is a major double-membrane organelle found in the cells of plants Plastids were discovered and named by Ernst Haeckel.
There are three types of plastids:-
1)Chromoplast-They are colouring pigment found in flowers,fruits,etc
.
2)Chloroplast-
 These are responsible for photosynthesis. They contain chlorophyll
3)Leucoplast-
 They are colourless,used for storage of food in plants

plastids are found in plant cell. As previously mentioned,plastids are doubled membraned sac like organelles  involved in either the manufacture or storage of food they include chloroplast,chromoplasts  and leucoplasts
