plastids are membrane bound cell organelles found in plant cell.

There are three type of plastids

  1. leucoplast
  2. chromoplast
  3. chloroplast

Functions=

  1. leucoplast are helpfull in storage of materials & are colourless
  2. chromoplast are coloured plastids & impart colour of flowers, fruits, seeds, leaves, etc.
  3. chloroplast are green plastids design for photosynthesis.

The plastid is a membrane-bound organelle found in the cells of plants, algae, and some other eukaryotic organisms. They are considered endosymbiotic Cyanobacteria, related to the Gloeomargarita. The event to permanent endosymbiosis probably occurred with a cyanobiont.
