plastids: which contains pigment that provide colour to the cell .plastids on the basis of pigments can be classified into(i) chloroplast(ii) chromoplast (iii)leucoplasts.

  1. chloroplast: they manufacture food for green plants by the process of photosynthesis .
  2. associated with the different coloured parts of the plants like fruit vegetables and flowers are called chromoplast there responsible for imparting colour other than green to the different parts of the plant.
  3. plants also contain some colourless plastid is called leucoplast .This provide space to store starch ,proteins, oils, ect.
