polaroids are made up of long chain molecules tat are aligned in a particular direction .

(A) since the electric vector is in direction perpendicular to propogation of wave when light wave travels through polaroid so light waves r transverse in nature .

(B) when an unpolarized light is incident on polaroid then the light wave ll get linearly polarised with electric vector oscillating along a direction perpendicular to the aligned molecules . this direction is pass axis of polaroid.
